Internet Activity requires macOS 13 or later and supports Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

Why does macOS ask for approval?

Internet Activity uses Apple's Network Extension framework. macOS asks you to approve its system extension and network filter before monitoring can start. It may also request App Management access to label observed executables with an app name and bundle identifier.

Why is some information unavailable?

macOS does not always provide an app identity, hostname, or destination for every observed flow. Internet Activity shows a generic label or an unavailable state rather than guessing. Whole-filter packet totals and per-process flow totals come from different network layers and are not expected to match.

How do Block and Allow work?

Block is available when macOS supplies sufficiently reliable identity. Rules apply only to the current dashboard session. Allow permits new connections; an already terminated TCP connection may need to be retried.

What happens when I quit?

Your dashboard history, pins, and rules are not saved. Internet Activity requests immediate rule clearing and disables its own saved filter configuration on a clean quit. The approved system extension remains installed so macOS does not ask for approval on every launch.

Privacy

Observed network activity is processed only on your Mac. Internet Activity has no account, analytics, advertising, telemetry, third-party SDK, or cloud sync. See the full Privacy Policy.
